His success story:

“I knew little about electrical works, but had passion to produce electrical devices like ‘alarm device’. I had to form an alliance with a partner who studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering who is knowledgeable in computer programming. Along the line, I heard about STEP and because I needed a platform where I could learn more, I immediately took advantage of the opportunity. I needed the training for a complete package, and to develop my interest which is production.

“I have had funny feelings about empowerment programmes, but Governor Okowa’s job creation programme is so real and well thought out. One is trained and established on a platter of gold. Whoever does not take full advantage of it is not serious-minded. I identified my dream and followed it. I really appreciate the Government of Delta State.

“We have more than 20 products such as vehicle tracking device that locates and demobilizes a vehicle; portable power alarm device with volume and time controls as features; fire and gas alarm device that sends SMS messages to 2-3 persons; inverter; moving message device and digital clock; automatic voltage selector device; stabilizer; device that can check fuel purity; maximum power point tracker controller among others. Currently, we have two offices. We are working on standardization and awaiting commercialization.

“The services we render include electrical installation, repairs and maintenance of electronics devices such as solar panel, inverters, house wiring etc. We also train technicians and IT students from tertiary institutions.

“I have participated in lots of business fairs like the 2019 Delta State Job Creation Fair, 2020 Enugu Science and Technology Expo, 2020 Abuja Science and Technology Expo, 2021 Abuja Science and Technology Expo etc. In 2019, I won a one million naira grant from the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology under Presidential Standing Committee on Invention and Innovation and was acclaimed to be an upcoming technology company to watch out for. I am currently a trainee of the Tony Elumelu Foundation.”
