Addressing the STEPreneurs at the Hotel Benezia, Asaba, the Director of STEP, Mr Onyeisi Nkemchor, said the State Governor, Senator Okowa, has kept his promise of providing them with a generator each in addition to their starter pack of an Adjustable Aluminium Ladder (4-Step); an Electric Drilling Machine; a Digital Multimeter; an Electrical Toll-Box (Complete Set); Shop Rent Subsidy- #60,000.00; Starter-Up Allowance- #30,000.00 and a monthly stipend of #10,000.00 for a period of 3 months.

Mr Nkemchor added that the Governor has also provided them with a token to cover their transportation fare to Asaba and back to their various destinations.

He charged them to make good use of their starter pack so as to become self-employed, build a sustainable enterprise and become employers of labour.

Responding, Micheal Aswor of Delta Central Senatorial District, extolled the steering qualities of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his magnanimity in providing them with a generator each in spite of their uncivil attitude in making their request known to him.

He advised future beneficiaries of the programme to channel their request through dialogue and to be civil in their approach to issues in life.

While describing Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as a man who keeps to his words, he congratulated him for keeping his promise, saying that so many of them had doubts thinking that the promise was a mere political statement.

He said the Governor has made an indelible impression on them by this singular act as a man who keeps to his words.

In their separate remarks, Moses Afokoghene Akparobi and Friday Agboile of Delta South and Delta North Senatorial Districts respectively expressed their gratitude to the State Governor for his meekness and for the timely fulfilment of his promise to them.

They prayed God to bless him and his administration.

It could be recalled that on the 18th of April, 2016, the STEPreneurs trained in Electrical Installation and Repairs enterprise welcomed the Governor to the Cenotaph with an uproar in protest that they should be given generator like their counterparts trained in Computer Hardware Maintenance and Repairs and in Fashion Design and Tailoring
